Member of the Pregnancy Posse

My friend Jen is going into the hospital today to see if she can hold off delivering Baby Carly for a few more days. I guess with all the trouble she's had, she's low on amniotic fluid and they might have to do an early c-section. She's finally at week 35 so it would be safer to deliver now.

I've been named Director of Pregnancy Communications in Jen's "Pregnancy Posse." That means I'm going to communicate the status of her situation from minute to minute to her friends and family across the country as she goes through the process of having a baby.

Lots of other people are in the Pregnancy Posse and have other roles -- I love this idea for single moms...it gives people in your life something to do other than sitting around waiting for the news, while solving a lot of big problems you have to deal with. She's got a Director of Transportation (who gets to ensure she gets to the hospital), a Baby Watcher (someone who goes from the delivery room to the nursery with the baby -- hospitals require this to make sure you dont get the wrong baby), and other posts which I'm sure will help get that baby out and get her home.

I'm ready to do my job!!

That New Car Smell!

In only 4 hours I will be receiving my brand new 2008 Toyota Prius in Barcelona Red! Everybody, put your hands in the air and wave 'em around like you just don't care!

I actually can't wait to get my car...I bought it on eBay from a dealership in Texas. They actually arranged for someone to drive the car down to me in Florida. It would have cost me about $900 to ship the car but the dealer said for $550 they would have someone deliver it to me and fly back! Score!

Actually, I got the idea from my friend's mom who got her new car on eBay. I realized this was the answer to my prayer of not having to go into a car dealership to purchase a car. It's such a personally disgusting process to buy a car. I hate going there. I hate hearing all the salesman bullshit. I hate the HOURS they keep you there going back and forth over the cost of the car. They're just hoping that if they keep you there long enough, you're less likely to get up and walk away. And they're probably right 99% of the time. You get so frustrated sitting there that you cannot bear to walk away and start all over again at another dealer.

Well, screw you car dealers!! I'm not going to sit in your stupid dealerships anymore! I'm buying everything online now...from underwear to cars! Of course, only the cars will be pre-owned...I need the undies to be new.
