Amazon Lover

Well, all my plans for spending the week reading the last Harry Potter continue to be foiled. So it turns out that UPS gives the US Post Office certain packages to deliver, and once they hand it over to the USPS, they no longer can track it. So my package "looks" like its been delivered but the hotel swears it hasnt received anything for me. And the post office just "doesn't know anything about it."

So this is why I love Amazon.com and buy so much from them...I called them and gave them the situation, and their wonderful customer service person is sending me a new book overnight! So that I get it on Thursday before I leave for Richmond!

This isn't the first time they've fixed things for me...I ordered something from one of their Amazon Stores and didn't receive it, and they refunded me with no questions as part of their A to Z guarantee. And that's just two examples. I've bought and returned and had all kinds of changes to my orders and they've always come through. I bought into the Amazon Prime membership last year and its been so worth the money. For $79 a year you get free 2-day shipping and upgrades to overnight for only $3.99 on most products.

OK -- commercial over. I just love them. And if I get my book on Thursday, my happiness will be complete!

The Best-Laid Plans...

Well, I planned it perfectly. My Harry Potter book was to arrive in my hotel on Saturday, ensuring that I would spend all of Sunday finding out "what happens." I pay for AmazonPrime service and they ensured I would receive the book on the day of release. But no. I was foiled.

On Saturday my friend Maria came to DC for some quality hanging out time...I was so sure when we returned from our massive sightseeing excursion that I would have the book in my hands, ready for a Sunday of laziness. But when I got back to the hotel there was no package.

I rushed online to track the package and it said that they tried to deliver but no one was home. Hello! This is a hotel....someone is ALWAYS home.

I rushed down to the front desk..."Where's my damn book!" I said....except nicer.

Turns out UPS doesnt deliver so that hotel on Saturdays. So much for the Amazon promise.

If any one of you so much as says "Harry" in front of me before I read this book, I will still my fingers in my ears and say "LALALALALALALALA NOT LISTENING!"

OK, I gotta go track this thing and make sure it gets to me...
